OW!

4 and 1/2 hours of surgery. Nasal cavity packed to the brim with gauze and "stents", which are due to be yanked out on wednesday. ("Take a vicodin before you come--I've had people faint." Actual quote--at least he warned me.) Blood oozing down my throat in gobs. And a useless right hand that must be held "above the level of my heart" for 5-7 days due to carpal tunnel surgery. I may be out of commission for a few days. Ouch.

Thanks for the concern, loyal readers. I'm afraid I did it to myself. I chose to have sinus surgery, and carpal tunnel surgery at the same time, so as not to have to go under anesthesia twice. Verdict is still way out on whether this was a good idea or not. The only thing I can compare it to now is purposefully hitting your thumb with a hammer, and then waiting to see if it feels good when it stops hurting. . . .

You couldn't have planned that any better. Release...surgery...recovery...move...What's next Bishop?!!! Dang, we're gonna miss you guys!!!

You are a total masochist! In fact, I would venture to say you are completely crazy for doing it all in one shot...to each his own I guess! Actually, I have to say I sort of understand. When I have my last C-section I may just ask the doc to do a little tummy tuck while he's in there.
Hope the pain has subsided and that you are well on the road to recovery.
